Task 1 / Trending Experience
Note
Week 1: Introduction
In week 1, we explore different experiential ideas using Augmented Reality (AR). We were given some past student examples to watch to gain understanding about AR, as well as some inspiration. Mr Razif had also given some of his advice and tips on building the AR. Some of the advice that he had given us was about the visual designs and the usefulness of the idea.Week 2: Experiential Design
For this class activity, each group came up with their own journey map for a specific place (the current journey map). So the next thing to do is to create a future journey map. We were divided into several groups and then created a current journey map. My group decided to create a current journey map based on the overall experience of visiting Sunway Pyramid Mall. After we finished, the whole group came to the front to present it to everyone. This photo was taken by Mr. Razif during our speech.
When I saw the presentations from other groups, I felt that they analyzed each step very carefully and thought very carefully.
Week 3: Marker-based AR experience
We went to a short lecture session to experience the basics of AR afterwards. For that, in class, we tried the AR on that given by Google. I found it really interesting to see the tiger model become REAL. For iPhone users, however have to download Google to make use of this VR function.
This is a photo of the T-Rex I captured with Mr. Rafiz
Next,We need to have three places: the gym, the kitchen, and one other place. Imagine a scenario in either of the three places. What would the AR experiences be, and what visualization can be useful?
Our team chose IKEA as the place for enhanced visualization AR. Imagine that we go to IKEA and there are many kinds of furniture. People who are not familiar with it may get lost, so we want to make changes to this situation. We then presented it to Mr. Rafiz, and his feedback was that the content was very direct and to the point, there was nothing to improve, and it was a good idea.
We have been told before that we need to download Unity, and then Mr. Rafiz taught us to download Vuforia Engine from https://developer.vuforia.com/
After registering an account, we will be able to obtain the API key for us to access libraries such as datasets.

I downloaded 4 versions of Unity before I found one that didn't crash. I have no idea why this happens.
INSTRUCTIONS
In this assignment, we were also asked to explore and research more ideas that we could investigate. My idea is to create some practical VR-enhanced visualization connections between virtual and real life. So my idea is
#2: AR Plant Care Assistant
#3: AR Welcome Guide — Virtual Info Point for Campuses or Stores
REFLECTION
This project made me understand the importance of following the user journey and how AR technology can enhance the real world. Learning to use Unity and Vuforia helped me develop important problem-solving and digital design skills. I realized that teamwork and creative collaboration play a vital role in the creative process. I plan to further improve my skills and explore more ways to design more immersive experiences using technology.
