INSTRUCTIONS

At the beginning of this module, we were required to come up with ideas related to our own specialization. My plan was to design an application and then enjoy the process.

My specialization is UI/UX. I've been designing travel apps in my previous modules, so this time I want to combine many functions into one app.

Project Title: Jalan Square

Project Objectives: I want to develop a local content-focused app to make traveling in Malaysia more convenient. Features include:
  • Booking flights, hotels, and amusement park tickets
  • Group chat functionality
  • Real-time location tracking
  • Travel planning; 
  • Attraction and restaurant recommendations
  • Sharing lifestyle
  • Navigation

Problem Statement: One of the most common problems we encounter in our daily lives is how to plan a trip. Research also takes time. This app allows multiple people to decide on the destinations they want to visit together.Deciding on a destination that satisfies everyone through voting makes it easier to plan the entire trip.


Advantages of Jalan Square:
  • Multiple functions integrated, reducing the frequency of switching applications.
  • Improve decision-making efficiency and reduce the workload of planners.
  • Track friends' locations in real time while traveling.
  • Make the planning process more engaging and fun.
  • Promote the development of local tourism.

REFLECTION

At first, I was quite lost, unsure of what theme to choose. However, I'm very grateful to my supervisor, Ms. Anis, who inspired many ideas and constantly encouraged us. Initially, I wasn't very serious about this module, but towards the middle of the project, I realized it was our final year project, so I started taking it seriously to avoid future regrets. After the final design was completed, I wasn't entirely satisfied; there's still room for improvement. I will submit my most satisfactory plan in Major Project II.
