LECTURES

Week 1
This week, Mr. Martin explained the overall course structure and the assignments we need to complete this semester. Then, in our group, we created canvas sildes about what infographics are and their types.

Week 1 Tasks:
  1. Exercise 1: Quantify & visualize data (10%)
  2. Flip class week 1: Re-design one poorly constructed infographic poster with CANVA, post it in blog.
  3. Project 2: Exercises 3 Kinetic Typography: As a group, decide the music to use.

Week 2
This week, Mr. Martin reconfirmed the details of our previous assignments and explained L.A.T.C.H. to us. Afterwards, we discussed in groups and completed the sildes.

INSTRUCTIONS

Exercise 1: Quantifiable Information

Arrange objects (Lego/ buttons/ coins etc) with relevant indicators written out with pens to help we visualize the quantity and data. Take a picture of the final assembly and upload into our’s Google Drive folder.

My first ideas is using wood stick / keychain / card, so I'm using color wood stick for this exercise.

First attempt

Final Work

Flip class week 1

We need re-design one poorly constructed infographic poster with CANVA, post it in blog.

Hiring poster Source

I feel this poster lacks professionalism; the layout, design, and the order of elements are all inappropriate.

Final Poster

I redesigned this poster, arranging the information from top to bottom according to its importance, while maintaining the original content.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H

Location / Alphabet / Time / Category / Hierarchy

In this exercise, we will need to:
Organize a group of information into a visual poster that combines and utilizes the LATCH principles (Minimum 4).

Use a digital photo editing / illustration software available to assemble the pokemons into a LATCH infographic poster. We can re-use back the images of the monsters, but do create the rest of own visuals to complete the poster.

Few of suggested compiled data

I plan to make a Pokemon poster.
Location: Island floating on sky,Pokémon distribution
Alphabet: Pokémon Evolution Order
Time: Pokémon Evolution Order
Category: Pokémon's types (Grass, Fire, Water...)
Hierarchy: Pokémon Evolution Order
